Criminal Law

Our firm provides aggressive representation of persons charged with criminal offenses. Attorneys Jim Dixon, Saxon Rodgers, and Scott Kee have outstanding reputations in the South Puget Sound region in the area of criminal defense. They have successfully represented persons in Thurston, Lewis, and Mason counties accused of crimes ranging from misdemeanor offenses (DUI, simple assault, driving while license suspended) to aggravated felonies (controlled substances, assault, sex offenses, firearms violations, and homicide).

How much will it cost?
Our services for criminal law are billed at an hourly rate. We normally require a retainer to be paid in advance. The retainer may range from $500 to $10,000 depending on the case. This money is held in trust and the monthly bill is deducted from the retainer. Once the matter is resolved any funds still held in trust are returned to the client.

What is Bail?
When a person is accused of a crime the Court will usually hold a hearing to determine if probable cause exists to believe that the individual actually committed the crime. If the Court finds probable cause it will often require a bail or bond to be posted prior to the accused being released from custody. Bail is a fixed cash amount that must be posted prior to being released. Most of the time the Court will allow the accused to post a bond. This is done by entering into a contract with a bondsman.
